Walter Reed Hospital sent out a group of Veteran amputees from the Iraq/Afghanistan War for some R & R to Tucson.  Part of the program was them playing baseball on Friday night at U of A stadium.

The Patriot Guard was invited and this is one mission we could make a difference at!  These men and women had no idea we would be there!  They played after the woman’s game and it started shortly after 6:00 PM.

Several of our Members were able to also attend.  Steve Kelley, Steve Mathews, Stan and Patti Thibaut were all in attendance.  They said it was one of the most inspiring moments they have ever experienced.  You would not have believed the enthusiasm these Veterans showed and how they were able to make hit after hit and run bases.  Many with prosthetic arms and legs.
